All employees of HCR ManorCare, with the exception of contracted and temporary employees, are eligible to apply for a grant from the Hug Fund with the following considerations:
- Employees must have been employed by the company for at least 90 calendar days.
- For those employed with the company for 12 months or more, the employee’s hours worked must exceed 520 for the most recent 12-month period.
- For employees with the company for less than 12 months, the employee’s projected annualized hours worked must exceed 520.
- Each of the following criteria must be met for an employee to be eligible for a Hug Fund grant:
- The employee must have suffered an unexpected, catastrophic event beyond his or her control.
- The employee must be in a state of financial distress in which the employee does not have the means to financially meet his or her basic needs (food and shelter).
- The employee must have exhausted other resources.
A grant request can be submitted by an employee, the employee’s family or by other employees (on behalf of an employee). |
